In case anyone that follows me can't find it anymore, I changed the url of my tumblr blog to flinnlife.tumblr.com.

I'm also thinking of turning it into a full blown, legit blog, and possibly switching back to blogger to do so.

I know, I know I'm so indecisive.

30 Weeks

My mom and I at my baby shower this past weekend

How far along?  30 weeks and 4 days
Total weight gain: Once again, WAY TOO MUCH!!  I started keeping track of my calories after my last doctor's appointment and there's just no way I'm eating enough calories to be gaining real weight at the rate that I am gaining it.  It has to be water weight - and I've been really swollen lately.  Also, more than a couple people have asked me how I've managed to stay so fit during my pregnancy.  I'm pretty sure I just looked at them with my eyes popping out in surprise!
Maternity clothes? Always
Stretch marks? Just the same two I've had.  I've been trying SO hard to not scratch my itchy skin and slather on shea butter instead.
Sleep: Still not great, but okay.  I did get a maternity body pillow and it lasted for about 2 minutes in bed with me before I threw it on the floor - it wasn't comfortable at all!  I'll stick with my extra pillows from the couch for now, thanks.
Best moment this week: Our trip to Pittsburgh and my beautiful baby shower last weekend!!  (A more detailed post on baby shower to come!)
Miss Anything? Sleeping all the way through the night and being able to wear cute shoes (my feet are too swollen)!  Also cold lunch meat sandwiches.
Movement: All the time and I love it!
Food cravings: Not really - ice cold water and/or coke.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Thankfully, no
Gender: Sweet little boy!
Symptoms: Swollen feet and hands, hip pain, and having to pee ALL the time.
Belly Button in or out? Getting pretty flat - and I think the top half is beginning to pop out.
Rings on or off? On, and they will be staying that way unfortunately.  My hands are too swollen at this point to get them off!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! :)
Looking forward to: Unpacking and setting up all the gifts we got at our baby shower!

Look at these cute cute little onesies I got at Old Navy yesterday!! They were having a great sale, and I just couldn't resist!!

I just love the batman one, well, because batman is awesome.  And my husband is a big Notre Dame fan, so I knew he would love that one!  My mom got us some baby Notre Dame socks a while back, and I can just picture our little guy on gameday with his little Notre Dame onesie, little jeans, and little Notre Dame socks.  He will be so cute!!  (And I will take his picture and put it in a frame to send to his Aunt Jaime too! :))

I forgot that I never posted pictures of the Pittsburgh Steelers gear that my parents got Liam for Christmas - I was so excited about it!!  He's going to be the cutest little football fan ever. :) :)

Nursery Progress!

This post is a little bit delayed, but New Years weekend we got our nursery painted and picked up/put together our crib!  My sister is actually moving in with us for a couple months because her student teaching placement is closer to our apartment than it is to her college campus (by about 30 mins), and she will be temporarily staying in Liam's room (on an air mattress).  This room was previously filled with junk in boxes left over from our move, so we had to get it cleaned out anyway - but I'm SO happy that we got going on this project a little bit.  We are such bad procrastinators (especially when it comes to arranging furniture/painting/decorating our apartments), but not this time (at least not with this particular room)!

Here is my goofball husband the morning after we painted - before he had to move all the furniture into the arrangement I wanted. :)

I love the way the color turned out - even though it isn't exactly what I thought I wanted!  We tried to pick a blue-ish gray color because I really wanted gray walls, but I didn't want a silvery gray because I didn't want the room to look cold.  So we tried to pick a gray from the blue family, but what we ended up with was more of a gray-ish blue!  Especially when the sun shines in, it really looks mostly blue.  But I like it!  And I'm not repainting it anyway, so we are stuck with it! But I think it goes wonderfully with the furniture, and I still haven't picked the crib bedding I want, so it's not like it's clashing with anything.

We got this furniture for a STEAL through my work classifieds.  We ended up with the dresser, crib, and crib mattress for just $95 (total!!).  I still can't believe our luck!  The paint on the dresser needs a little touching up (though I might just totally repaint it - maybe go all yellow?), and the front rail on the crib needs screwed on (it used to be a drop side, but doesn't have the pins any more (not that we would want a drop side anyway) so Korey and his step-dad are going to bolt it together).  I think the crib is totally gorgeous - and I love that it has a big drawer on the bottom for extra storage.

All we really need now is a small changing table (I'm looking for a white one with open shelves) and MAYBE a glider//ottoman if we can swing the cost (they're so expensive!).

Oh, AND I just need to figure out what bedding set I want!  Such a hard decision!!

Ultrasound & Glucose Test

So yesterday I had a triple-whammy appointment with the ob - 28 week appointment, ultrasound, and one-hour glucose test.

I was so excited and happy to get to have a 28 week ultrasound!  I had it because at our first ultrasound, my placenta was really low, so they needed to check and make sure that it had moved to where it's supposed to be (which it is! praise Jesus!), but I was just so happy that we had another opportunity to see our precious boy again!!

And here he is!!  This is as close of a face shot that the ultrasound tech could get - he kept turning his head every time she tried to get a view of his face!  We did see a little glimpse of his side profile, and it looks like he has a pretty big nose (definitely gets that one from my husband)!  I can't wait until he gets here so we can just see how cute he is!!

I just love this picture though.  It looked like he was rubbing his face/head (His face is covered up by his hand in this picture), and look how long his fingers look!  We also saw one of his hands from a different angle, and it almost looked like he was waving at us.  It was sooo cute.

And he looks great and healthy!  We heard his steady heartbeat and saw all four chambers in his heart.  His development is right on par.  Yay!

The glucose test was pretty icky, but it honestly could have been worse.  With everything I kept hearing people saying about it, I was pretty much dreading it.  But I just sucked that solution right down so I barely had to really taste it.  It did give me kind of a stomach ache and headache, but I survived.  And I don't mind having my blood taken, so that part was easy.  Korey about passed out, but it doesn't bother me a bit.  (I told him during delivery I want him up by my side, holding my hand the entire time so he doesn't have to see too much blood - I don't want him passing out on me!)  I just really hope I don't get a call about the results of my blood test (no news is good news!), and I really hope I don't have to go in for the four-hour test.

I did get another little talk about gaining too much weight.  It sucks because I really do feel like I'm trying really hard!  Ugh!  I guess I just need to try harder.  I'm going to try and avoid snacking too much (even though I always feel hungry) or at least to snack on healthier things.  I'm also going to try and avoid eating so many carbs all the time.

AND I was pretty mad, because this morning on my scale at home I weighed FOUR pounds less (right after I woke up, after going to the bathroom) than I did on the scale in the doctor's office yesterday (in the middle of the day, after eating breakfast, with jeans and a sweater on).  I just don't think they take all that into consideration when telling you you're gaining too much weight.  Four pounds is a huge difference!!

My next appointment is in two weeks, and from here on out I'll go every two weeks.  I'm definitely going to be trying really hard to drink more water (to try and keep water weight to a minimum) and eat less carbs, and hopefully I will get a little praise for not gaining too much weight at my next appointment.  Korey and I also went for a walk today, and I think we are going to try and do that more often when it's nice out, because I really haven't been exercising too much lately.  I was doing pretty well for a while, but once the holidays hit, I really started slacking off.

Korey keeps pep talking me though, ensuring me that as long as our little boy is healthy and as long as my blood pressure and things like that are good, gaining a little extra weight isn't going to kill me.  And he's totally right.  I'm just glad our little boy is healthy and strong!!

27 Week Update

How far along?  27 weeks and 4 days
Total weight gain: TOO MUCH!!  I’ve been avoiding the scale, but I’ll have to face it at my doctor’s appointment tomorrow, ugh.
Maternity clothes? Every day!  I got some cute new ones for Christmas, too. :)
Stretch marks? Same two, hoping it will stay that way.
Sleep: Ugh, don’t want to talk about it.  I’m seriously thinking about buying one of those maternity body pillows even though they are so expensive!
Best moment this week: Painting the nursery!! (Pictures to come soon!)
Miss Anything? I certainly missed the champagne on New Years Eve!  Sparkling grape juice was a decent sub though.
Movement: Always.  It’s neat too because I’ve figured out his pattern - when he usually sleeps and when he’s usually awake and wiggling around.
Food cravings: Nothing has really been standing out.  Every once in a while I’ll just need to have something, but nothing consistent lately.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Gender: boy-o!
Symptoms: Swollen feet and hands, hip pain, and headaches.  Also, I had a little visit from the morning sickness fairy the other day, which was so weird since I hadn’t been sick in months.
Belly Button in or out? Innie
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! :)
Looking forward to: My ultrasound tomorrow!!
